South Park Nights

south park crew.JPG (7868 bytes)Do you like South Park, Comedy Central’s ultra-hot cartoon? Do you like hanging out with people like you who like South Park? Do you like having a big party atmosphere with food and drinks while you watch South Park?  Do you just have a craving for hanging out with people who enjoy overexposed cartoons?

Well downtown Chicago is the place for you then. There are already a few places downtown that are having celebrations for the new episodes of South Park, and there may be more on the way. South Park’s episodes are broadcast on Wednesdays at 9:00 PM, and now you can enjoy food, beer, Stan, Cartman, Kyle, and Kenny with a crowd of people just like you.

For those of you who have been living in a cave the last year and do not know what South Park is, let me briefly describe the show. It is about four third Cartman1.gif (1711 bytes)grade boys and their school chef getting into all kinds of hilarious situations, including fighting bloodthirsty Thanksgiving turkeys, anal-probing aliens, gay animal shelters, and assassination attempts on Kathy Lee Gifford.

The show has become a huge hit, much like the Simpsons, Ren & Stimpy, and Beavis and Butthead were before it. However, South Park has gone one step further in having downtown parties thrown for it's episodes.

mr hankee.JPG (3850 bytes)Alumni Club is throwing the biggest parties for South Park. Every Wednesday is South Park Night and they will show the new episode, followed by two previously seen episodes. The shows will also be accompanied by South Park oriented games and prizes will be given away. The three Alumni Clubs that will be participating in the South Park Nights are its Division Street, Lincoln Avenue, and Schaumburg locations.

Another one of the places that is showing the new episodes is Chicago’s Planet Hollywood. You can enjoy food and drinks during the new episodes as the week’s new episode of South Park is shown throughout the many screens inside the restaurant. The showings of South Park have also featured celebrities so far such as comics Emo Phillips and Judy Tenuta.

Parties at Planet Hollywood and Alumni Club locations will go on until we all finally get sick of South Park and wouldn't even think about coming downtown just to watch it.
